I am looking to buy a 96-00 civic hatchback in Illinois. I want to buy one ASAP, because I have money to spend from selling my Subaru STI. I had to pay off my debts, and now I am looking for something a lot cheaper that has a good body (no rust, almost no scratches and dents), good gas mileage, and is quick. The most important thing is the conditon of the exterior/interior body though. I would consider a 92-95 civic hatch too, only if the body was in excellent condition, but that is a lot harder to find (especially in Illinois). The car has to be manual, and I would prefer a B series motor or H22. JDM stuff and other mods are a plus, especially 5 lug conversion. I have been looking around to buy for awhile and this is a lot harder than I had thought. Please help me out. I am willing to travel within 100 miles of Chicago. I have about $10,000 to spend on a car that is top notche, and I would even buy a stock car for that is in excellent conditon for around $4,000, but ideally I want to spend around 6-7K.
