HIT AND RUN! Sorta....!!!

So I got off work today, I was walking out to my car, and I noticed the person next to me was backing out, and HIT MY CAR!!! They like side swiped my front bumper. I was backed into a spot, and they pulled out and turned too much or something. And the bad thing is they didnt stop or anythign, they just went on their way, I was about 200 ft from my car when it happend, I saw it and RAN to my car to see what happend, by the time I was up there, they were long gone.
And to make it worse, they knocked out my front bumper light somehow, and I popped it back in, but when I was driving it fell out on the freeway and its long gone.
So what should I do to fix the paint? I really don't want to spend alot of money to fix up the paint, any suggestions??

I wouldnt try getting it repainted then. I'd look for a replacement in the same color from the junkyard.
When you get things replaced and repainted before selling the car people think it was in an accident and you're trying to pass off a crappy car and scam them.

Duh. In that quote you said you wanted to sell it and get a newer car. When you start repainting parts of your car before you sell it, people are wary and will not pay as much because they think you're hiding some kind of carnage that happened. It's easier to sell it with the fucked up bumper actually.

Yea np. My mom's Del Sol was rusted and she got it repainted before she sold it and they offered her half of what it was worth simply because it was painted and they had no idea if she did it to try and cover it up. Our mistake, hopefully everyone else can learn from it.
i can understand doing a crappy paint job
but if ur talkin about repainting the whoel thing that fine, but just for bumbper damage and not even large damage, sell it as is

No need for a new bumper cover, all you will need is a spot paint, won't even need to blend the fender.
I would estimate 200 to 350 dollars maximum, anymore than that, wouldn't be necessary.

Hmm okay thanks. I am going to just leave it when I try to sell it, and explain to the buyer what happend, and offer to paint it if they want, be honest with them, not make it look like I am trying to do a coverup
