Default 99-00 b16a2 ecu

im gonna buy a 00 b16a2 motor without an ecu.

i see several 99-00 ecu's for sale on ebay but none state which year the car came off off. i need a 00 so my swap can be California smog legal but im not sure if there is a difference in the 99-00 ecu's. can a state ref tell the diff between 99-00? or is there no difference? i also need a fuel rail, is there such thing as a 00 fuel rail or are all b16 fuel rails the same?

any help would be appreciated

looking to stay legal

going into a 00 ex. ive done some more reading and i believe it is the exact same ecu and there is no way to tell what year car it came out of so i think it will be good for my smog ref guy.

I'm swapping a b18b into a 97 civic chassis. I too was concerned with the whole ECU issue as I plan on getting the thing BAR certified. I actually called the Acura dealer and asked of any special part numbers for the ECU needed. They advised me that part number "xxxxx-P75-A04" was the one needed. They also said that it was for 49 state emissions and didn't have the information as to wether CA was included or not. So i guess in our case, stick with OBD2 ECU's with a revision of A04. That's what I'm going for. Now read this thread:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=810101

In that thread there is mention that revisions ending in "L0X" (where "X" is supposed to be a number) were for CA emissions but I couldn't find any info on it. Confusing.
