Default People with JDM yellow fogs

I just got my JDM yellow fog lights from ebay yesterday. I haven't installed them (my friend will be doing that on Friday). However, I printed out the Step by Step guide from hondapartdeals.com and they seem to be differen't parts. Is there really that much of a difference between the OEM fogs and the JDM yellow? If I follow that guide, will I get screwed up?

There seems to be different wiring for the ebay version and password version of JDM. Here is what I got:

The wiring harnesses are slightly different but u can use the directions. The Ebay and Password JDM Fog lights leave out the relay that comes with the OEM. The switch is slightly cheaper looking then the oem one and the fog lights dont turn off when u put high beams on and the fog light switch on the cluster does come one.

I wonder if the factory switch and the one from the ebay kit have the same harness plug... If it does then I would like to order the factory one.. It's only like $11... I hate the amber color of the ebay switch... I'm going to cut that wire that lights it up... Does the factory switch light up white to match the dash??

What is the power wire on this harness? Is it the 4 prong that goes into the fusebox? Then the White wire with the Brown clip plugs into the clip underneith the dash with the blue tape on it? Now my other concern is the Red wire with the White clip. Is that supose to plug into the wire by the washer bottle with the blue tape on it? Now the clip wont fit the wire because the clips are differant. So I need some insite in how this goes.

I also tried putting it on today with someone and yet we have no idea how to put the wires in. All we did was put the fogs and those wires in the bumper. Following the OEM instructions does not help at all.

Well what I did was take that whole harness completely apart... I started with the switch inside...

Switch wire colors should be

2 Reds wires which are paired together in the harness for power and to light the switch
1 Yellow wire that turns the fogs on and off
1 black, which is ground

I took the Red wire and tapped it into the # 15 fuse for the parking lights.. Next I cut the White wire with the brown connector and solder that to the Yellow switch wire that plugs into the Blue wire under the dash and runs to the engine bay.. So now if you have done all this so far and you want to test it to see if it work then turn your parking light on and the switch should light up... Press the button in and the button light should light up... Then take a test light and see if you are getting power out to the blue wire by the windshield washer fluid.. If everything works then lets move on..

Now here is where I did something different but you can make it work like I did with the existing harness relay... I had an extra APC Headlight Upgrade Harness lying around that I bought from Jegs that I used.. But all you need to do is find the wire that kicks the relay open, which I think, would be the Yellow wire going into the relay.. You'll have to pull the wire loom off to see what go to what.. I'm not sure because I used the other harness I had.. The blue wire on the passenger side of the car needs to run over to the drivers side to tap into the “I think” Yellow wire going into the relay to switch the relay open when you turn your parking lights on.. I'm pretty sure from what I can see from the picture that the white wire has the inline fuse... If so then that needs hooked to the battery terminal... Then I would think the red wire should send power to the fog light connectors.. Then find the ground for the relay…

I know this isn’t the best write-up but I hope it helps a little… My fogs turn on with my parking lights and I can use the switch to turn them off and on… Plus the stay on with my high beam on…

You are correct that the factory clip won't fit the aftermarket fog light clip. I had to use a push-on terminal to make it work... This kit is definitely not a plug & play kit thats for sure...

I said screw it and bought the Honda Factory harness. Got it for $30.00. I am still saving myself over 100 from the OEM price.

I have the same problem as you guys, and I also ordered the OEM harness. I swear this is the most complicated fog light setup on earth! My harness comes in on monday so i'll let you know what happens oh yea don't forget to order the relay and the other sub harness because it won't hook up to the stock relay, only the password/ebay one does. This is the first MOD to my car and i've been having trouble with it since. I should of got OEM's. live and learn.

you can get it at hondapartsdeals.com and go to parts and choose your model, then choose accessories and fog light kit. Then you can order piece by piece.

I put the Ebay JDM fogs in with the help of 2 Honda technicians (friends). It was insainly difficult. We pretty much had to wire them ourselves. The connectors from the bumper and the engine compartment are different but you can buy that one connector from a honda dealer and just swap out the one that comes from the fogs. Under the dash was a disaster. The instructions from Honda say you have to remove the footrest and the drivers side kick panel and molding. Not necessary! I figured out which wires went to what and plugged the Hot wire into a spare fuse outlet. (Don't worry you can get a fuse connector that won't require you to just hot wire the Lights). All in all the fogs took more than a few hours to install. I wrote to the ebay seller and told him all my problems and that the honda techs couldn't hook it up and he told me that he recommends "an aftermarket technician install them." Yeah OK! So i gave him negative feedback and went on with life! Best of luck to you and I hope you can figure them out.
PS - They deffinitely look great if you get them to work and they look even better if you pull the fuse on the daytime driving lights and just run with the fogs and corners lit up!

Caveman74... Can you do me a favor and let me know if the aftermarket switch connects into the factory harness... I'm thinking of ordering the factory switch because I don't like how the aftermarket one lights up amber...

I am thinking about getting the clear ones from ebay, I was wondering if anyone installed these fog lights successfully with the hardware that came with the kit.
