What transmission for ZC DOHC??
Which transmissions bolt unto a ZC DOHC??? It's kind of pointless to have this SI tranny especially when these cars are best for MPG when all the SI gearing does is destroy MPG. I'm not a race car driver so I'm wondering what sort of options i have available to get this transmission out of there.

This made baby Jesus cry.

well it's bad gearing for street use ya know? what is the end gear 4.2?/1?? the car is only about 115 HP or so and it only gets 34 MPG with the SI transmission. It's plenty fast as it is now so i assume giving up some gearing won't harm it either.
yeah, are those direct bolt ons?? that's what im trying to figure out here, what transmissions bolt on and what's required (if anything) as far as transmission wiring and axles and mounts go?
any of those transmissions will bolt up.
all d series trannies (except the 1st gen integra) bolt up.
as far as axles, the only issue is the DOHC ZC tranny requires bigger axles.
here are your options, and numerous hybrid combinations.
si, dx, hf, zc. look in the faq or search for tranny ratios. they all will work with the exception noted.

what do you mean by hybrid combinations?? Looks like the HF will work out real well.. DX if an HF is too difficult to find. thanks for the information, Tyson.
oh yeah don't worry about that rex, DX and SI are the same throughout the gear range except the final gear ratio. the HF has the same 1st gear but drops off slightly after that and especailly on the final gear ratio. It should be fine for driving around town, especially with winter coming up. By the end of winter it'll hopefuly have an E85 tune so it'll have plenty of torque.
you can interchange any final drive and individual gears (with limited exceptions) from any transmission i quoted.
using a HF 5th gear in a Si or ZC tranny is popular for hybrid trannies.
please do some research on this.

actually, you provided all the research neccessary! That was almost too easy. no changing gears in transmissions for me, it's nice to have running cars, haha.
