Misfire problem
Hi guys
I have a 1997 Civic HX (manual), that has been throwing the check engine light every now and then. I do not detect any actual significant misfire, but when I hooked it to the computer it said it had an engine misfire. The weird thing that keeps puzzling me is that the shift signal light goes out whenever the check engine light comes on. When the check engine light goes off the shift signal light starts working again.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Could it be a bad sensor? I have already replaced the spark plugs but I don't want to keep throwing money at the problem without knowing.
Many thanks!

do a full tune up (cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs) and get quality injector cleaner.. should cost you around 100 bucks.. most of the time its due to the contacts in the cap or old plug wires..
