this may seem like a stupid question, but i'm just making sure to be safe, if i have a F22B bolted to a H23 tranny, and i need to replace the slave cylinder, what do i reference the slave cylinder to?

same thing, either one will work.

The F/H casing is the same with exception of the auto's and ATTS tranny.

 

how identical are these motors? as far as interchanging parts go? i need to replace my IACV also, so when i order it from the dealer should i reference it to the F22 or a prelude si? if i have to reference the F22B to a car, which car is it orginially?

The F and H's share allot of parts however I'm not sure about the IACV. The F22 is from the 94 Accord and a few years after....

 

reference the car as a F22a1.

thats true. but he doesn't have that engine. he's refering to the f22b dohc that was in the japan prelude's.. and we the americans got the h23a. So when you need to find parts most of them will be under the f22a sohc motor. except when you need a valve cover gasket and stuff then you would use the h23a as reference.

basically the bottom end is a f22a and the top is a h23a. as far as the iacv goes you could just get one from the f22a or the h23a.

okay, so i was trying to fix my idling problem. and i searched through the forum and it seems like its IACV. which is what a friend told me also. but i called honda and told them i had a 92 prelude si. and they told me they have these parts.

Air Boost Valve
Electronic Air Control Valve
Fast Idle Valve

symptoms of my car are. idles at 2k cold ..i'm guessing thats normal but once i start driving the car, anytime i'm at a stop in neutral idle bogs from 1k to 1.3k over and over and over. never stops, cold or hot, always bogs. pretty sure its IACV but when i called honda, those were the part names they gave me ..and i wanted to be sure which part to order. and if i referenced it to a 92 Prelude Si, if i could would get the right part, considering i have a JDM F22B. thanks!

 

don't worry about the air boost valve.. I would go down to the dealership and look at the parts if you don't know for sure.. and that way you can tell which part you need since the names are differn't

 

h23 turbo same as f22b turbo?

i mean would charge pipes and everything pretty much be same positioning
and all that from the H23 to a JDM F22B?

 

I also have a F22B Dohc and recently blew my timming belt (because i just found out my car is also a roll back. Other wise i would have done teh proper maintenance. So to bring her back to life i need 6 vavles timming belt kit and a head gasket kit. In theory all these parts can come from the H23? I've actualy found the F22B dohc vavles and timming belt kit i need on ebay. But no dice on the head gasket kit. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks boys
