Default Tail light problemo plz help

If u could help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated. i own a 89 EF.

when i have my lights on and i put on the brakes, one of my tail lights goes out completely (no light) and the other lights up. However, when i do not have my lights on both brake lights work perfectly.

Im not sure what this is about, probably bcuz the wiring was messed up because the guy i bought it from did a mickey mouse job with the engine swap ( now has b16a ). If u could help me out that'd be great

with my sedan, it has two wires in the one globe, SO when you have your lights on, the smaller wire heats up. But the other wire in the globe ( the bigger one, which comes on when you brake) stays off. But when you brake, it wont come on ( the smaller wire should still be working though) because more then likely the bigger wire is broken.

What it sounds like you need is a dual filament globe

Best thing to do tho, is simply take out your tail light. Realy easy to do. And easy to see where the problem is that way. You should be able to see the broken filament.

Hope that helps man, ( i had a similar problem)
