Default If you had 5K and a stock k20a motor what would you do?

I'm looking to drop off my 05 DC5 Type-S at Church's in Wilmington, CA. I have 5 G's to drop for parts, labor, and dyno testing. I was thinking about going FI, but since it will be my DD, I decided to stay AM. Not including a CAI, headers, and exhaust what's my best B4$? I'm sure the tech's at Church's will not steer me wrong, but I was just looking to get some reco's from the boys (or girls) from HT.

Thx in advance...

Portflow head porting and valve job. IPS cams and valve train. IPS intake manifold. DTR race header. K Pro.

i dont think head porting will give much power. the k head already flows in stock form

Massaged properly, the K-head is even better

ips cams, valveain, rbc manifold, bored out t/b, aem ems, ssr or hytech header, pull and mill head 20 thous there is still clearance. if there is $ left over, Buy a spare k24 element or crv or accord stripped block to bu ld up with pistons rods and k24 timing chain and driver mount Bracket then swap in later

leave it stock, tune, and see how far you can go with it, unless you need more dyno HP?

Are you trying to stretch your powerband out, or make more power within your existing curve?

How much faster do you want to be? especially with 5 grand invested on top of the engine?

I'm shooting for an all around performance ride. A little more torque and better handling. I think FI would be fun, but it's going to be a DD so reliability is a factor. Then again I also have a 99 Accord that I can drive so I can always use that. If I have enough cash then I'll shoot for the Comptech SC with suspension work. I just want to blow the doors off the hinges that's all. HAHA!! If only I were rich...

well 5 grand is way over anyone's head for what your looking for, seriously. For alittle more tq, you might as well spend the time on finding more power out of your stock K20a. Maybe a port job on your PRC manifold, instead of getting an RBC, and constantly making improvements on your induction setup goes a long way, and then if you are looking for every last bit out of that combination, spend the money on a custom header. And tune...

Yeah it's cool to have a wish list but sometimes in life we have to be realistic. I think AM is the way to go cuz you can build up as you go and reliablity is better. I know that no matter how much i drop there will always be a faster car. "You're only as fast as your wallet."

Thanks JerseySiPOS for the reco!!

the best recommendation i can give, is drive two other 05 rsx type-s',

one with a greddy turbo kit or something within your budget (make sure its installed and tuned correctly).

and the other an all motor beast (also installed and tuned correctly).

then you can choose what you want to spend your money on.

if you dont know anyone, i'm sure you can find a fellow 05type-s owner somewhere in LA or 909 who would let u be a passenger.

Honestly, I think you should invest your money in something that will give you a return. But that's just me.

Also, you can't use a K24 block if you want to stay smog legal here in good ol' Cali.
