OEM CD Player sometimes plays CD's "static-y"
For the past few days, every once in a while, my CD player plays my CD's like they were scratched (skipping around) and has lots of static noise (as if I were getting bad radio reception) when playing. But then later on that day (say after work/school) it plays fine, w/ the same CD that was in there to begin with.
Is this a common problem? Does it just need a cleaning....? if so, how do I do that?

my oem cd player sucked. it would play cd's for a lil bit then cut off leaving me with only the am/fm. it'll work in the mornings when i first turn on the car or after the car sits for a few hours. it would usually get static-y before it was about to go out

YEP!
I have a 93 prelude. and I installed a 2000 Accord Ex Oem CD player. IT fits perfectly and looks like it was original.
SO i ran the 2000 accord cd player. and 3 months after install. It wouldn't play the cds. it would play sometimes and sometimes doesnt. I've tried cd cleaners with the liquid and all that. Nope. Didn't work.
THe cd player would play only up to track 8. then i just hear...the CD inside making zipping noises. zip zip zip zip .
In conclusion.. The lense may have been dirty? but I cleaned it! so That's not it.
In conclusion to the conclusion. My sugar mamma bought a Pioneer DEH-6800.
Then end.

1. You're playing your music too loud.
2. The wiring to one or more speakers may be on the verge of failing.
Simple test: a) Does lowering the volume stop the skipping? b) Play around with the Fade and Balance controls so that you test each of the four corners of your sound system independently. Does one corner sound abnormally low in volume compared to the others?
The remedy? Fix the wiring or replace the speaker in question.
