Default weldpak 100 with gas kit

guys...

i just picked up a weldpak 100 (M16930-1) w/ gas kit, that hadn't been used for about 2 years... the guy I got it from used it for little stuff, flux core only.

Anyway, it doesn't look beat up or anything. I got it for 200$... is that okay for a 2+ year old welder? It looks prestine, except for the gun... it seem the flux has balled up on it a bit.

I got 2 hits when I searched the archives... and only one quoted any pricing... I think it was 350$... Is that right? I googled it.. but I didn't find anything with the exact model number...

What do you guys think?

It's a good welder, I have the weldpak100HD (probably the same) with the gas kit and love it. I only run gas though, never use any fluxcore wire, not worth the ugly if you know what I mean. I always have the tank full with 75/25 and use it on exhausts, body work etc. I also bought mine for $200 from Home Depot discounted from $500 because it was missing the gun and was a display model. I then picked up a gun for $80 and I was good to go.

I've got straight argon... I hope everything for the MIG conversion is there... Haven't really looked through everything, yet... Cool beans... Can't wait to try it out this weekend. So, I guess 200$ isn't bad.

Thanks...

Pure argon won't work real well for you if you are welding steel.

I agree, the 75/25 will produce a better weld on steel that just the pure argon.

75% argon, 25% co2, yes it fits in one bottle.

To the original poster, feel free to IM me. I went through the same thing you are going to do. The gun could be cleaned off, its a nice welder and should do everything you need it to do.

Ah, ok. Cause I have a similar welder and bought the mig attachement. Need to get it filled up as well.

Thanks.

I think the smallest tank they have is a 20 c.f. tank... I got mine for about 100$ w/ the first fill up free... kinda pricey... but your stuck with your local provider...

Does the tank for straight argon use the same regulator fitting for the 75/25 mix?
