mp3 player for 1996 honda accord with factory 6cd charger
I recently bought 1996 Honda Accord EX coupe (my first car
) with factory cd player and 6cd charger in the trunk.
I want to install mp3 player in my car since I have a lot of mp3 music and not a lot of audio cds.
Is there a mp3 head unit out there that is able to interface with my existing cd charger and read mp3 music from there? That way I would be able to have 4gigs of music in the car.
Or am I just being stupid thinking that it could be done?
Thanks everyone.

If you dont have a lot of audio cds why do you want to keep the 6 disc changer? I would recommend that you get an aftermarket radio with mp3 capability. Look at the units that Alpine and Pioneer have to offer.
If its a stock changer then no it will not play mp3 discs. If you want a changer that plays mp3's Alpine and Pioneer make one. You should really consider those as your two best options.
actually you may be in luck....well sorta. Oem honda changers were made by Alpine- its was compatable with thier M-bus lines. I would look there. Only issue i forsee is the audio (+/-) is out of phase.

^^^. This is true. Makes the install of alpine cd changers in Hondas a breeze and saves you a few bucks as well.
Although a stock changer can be plugged into an Alpine M bus HU. with a minor mod, [switching signal return and right signal at HU end of changer cord] it will not play MP3 disks.
