you may even lose some power......

even with crazy boost, its not allway bigger=better....... you should be fine with 2.5 and a good tune.....

I disagree, bigger is not always better, but 3" certainly isn't too big.

3" for sure, i built my own for less than $250, prelude exhaust is very simple about 8ft of striaght tube and 2 45* bends or 1 90*(thats what i did), 3" magnaflow cat, some flanges and a big 'ol muffler. I didn't use a resonater and it sounds great. I welded all mine so add a little more for that.

But it will definatly improve power, backpressure can be good for NA but there is enough of that before the turbo, a large exhaust will also help on spool time, everyone told me my turbo was going to be too big, with a 3" ex. it spool at 3k rpm.

2.5" maybe "good enough" for less than 250hp but if you decide to go bigger 3" will be good enough for any power to plan to make.

go on ebay an look at there mendrel bends. thats what i was going to do. i got me some creep with a 3in. im running a t3/t4oe 60 trim with a .63ar. 38mm tial WG with a 7psi sprin an boost somehwre around 8-9 psi. i think once i put a resinator in it would be ok.

3in is perfect I run a full 4inch on my turslo car with 4in inlet to 3 inch outlet works great 3 inch was just to small. But for most normal aplications you will be just fine

****, even jd3jdm used a 3 inch for his n/a build and he made like 250+whp. the size of the exhaust should go with your power goals. can't go wrong with a 3 incher though.

The main place you really need the diameter to be bigger is the downpipe. I would have like a 3" downpipe to like 2.5" exhaust back. The piping right after the turbo is the most important to eliminate any backflow into the turbine wheel.

I like this comment the best since I to am in the process of figuring out what size piping to go with for my turbo setup

It has been said that the best exhaust for turbo is no exhaust....IMO bigger is better. You don't really have to worry about exhaust gas pulses or back pressure with a turbo. You just want to get that crap out of there as easily as possible to make it easy on your turbo.

correct my friend..and if I may directly quote Brad from RLZ: "Man you can even go 3 inch on a N/A lude (h22) with bolt-ons...those engines love air..."

so you can see why i had to rage on that rook before..nothing like ASSumptions!

Damn, I always ASSumed for NA ludes 2.5 was plenty big.

I guess I ASSumed wrong huh?

I am gonna have to consider that when I upgrade my exhaust - someday. Just prolly not for my DD, since I don't need the tickets
