Default pressed in liners an 88mm pistons h22a???

was thinkin on going this route.

h22a block
pressed in liners
an possible 88mm pistons

im able to get eagle rods an wisco 88mm piston for $350(balanced). ive been talking with some people an they say why not use pressed in liners so i can use a forgered piston. GOOD IDEA!! You get these for about 250 or so installed. just wondering if im able to go 88mm on the block.

you will never get a straight answer on here.

you need to go into the machine shop and ask them, they will know how thikc the liners are and f that is possible.

Machine work is what costs...there has also been some thinking on inserts from the Mercedes Benz 87-89mm may be compatible?

RaceEng.com I believe also sells a cheaper alternative of sleeves for the FRM but machine costs for me was way over the cost of them...

I know someone with those press in liner making 600+ hp...but is stricly a race car and pushes anti-freeze on high boost, not a very good daily.

i asked darton about their replacement liners and they say you really cant punch them out to 88-89mm, its ment to stay at the stock bore. but maybe some other brand makes thicker liners?

eagle rods didnt last to log? looks like something wasnt put together right.there rated for 600hp. did u have H beams??

im planning running 12 psi or so. goal is 300-350whp. i was told today that i would need to use wiesco rinngs? is that correct? also i was also told the rist pins arent very strong.

eagles HP rating for their rods is a joke.. bc rod strength isnt measured in HP, its more of tensile strength vs RPM vs pressure vs force, e=mc^2 u get the picture

ive ran 450 whp spinning 8500 rpms out of eagles. but i still suggest u get something like crowers or pauters, cause once u have 350, you'll want 550, trust me.

and remember what i said about using shitty sleeves: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=870704

yes h beams...no it was put together like it should have been, there just really crappy rods, there made of crappy steel from china ... and as for that pictures of the liners breaking (in the post above with link) like i said they are good for an n/a build i have heard night mares about boosting with drop in liners... and yes use the weisco rings.. and false there wrist pins are excelent... dont take my word though look around at all the cars using wiesco... hope this helps

ya it was my daily driver back then also. no 90 mm wasnt done for fun, other things in the past forced that. but i still feel it was the brand, and not the bore(not that that helped) that caused it to blow...

but no fear that was my old setup, new one is 88 mm and done right. i put over 1000 mi on it in 3.5 days already: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1756232

pm me i have a lot of parts for a turbo build, but were not going to talk about that in this post...
