OK... im new with honda's and i got a 1995 civic hatch with a b16 swap... i have a sohc wiring harness and a jdm gsr computer...for one.. when i wire my vtech to my ecu... the car gives out when vtech is susposed to kick in... i thought it was the vtech solenoid.. so one of my buddies told me to hook a switch up to it .. and i did .. and i press the button right when vtech is susposed to kick in.. and the vtech rips open... why is this? is it my comp... or am i not wiring it to the ecu right..also.. my b16 has a knock sensor but it isnt wired in... but.. on jdm gsr pinouts.. the knock sensor has n/a next to it so i shouldnt worry about it??? another problem im havin is when i have my map sensor and the other sensor by the throttle body hooked up..my car's idle go from 3 to 1..3 to 1 and so on and so on.. i replaced both of them but i heard that the one closest to the firewall... u shoudlt re-place...what should i do about that.. also one more thing... the motor was a lil outta time when i got it.. my distrubator is moved alot closer to the firewall then my friend who has a 400 hp civic si boosted... but when i try to turn it back to where his is... it just seems more and more outta time...i have cam gears on but i think its out of time towards the bottom... most of this minght sound stupid because im new with honda's.. Im a huge noob too but does the GSR have vtec? If it doesn't then the ECU isn't going to tell vtec to kick in.
