Spoon valve cover paint color code..whew thats long
ok i was looking at spoon valve covers and..well theyre a little pricey for a poor college student like me. so i decided the best route would be to paint it myself. my last obstacle is getting the right shade of yellow, or at least something extremely close. some guys said "daytona yellow" from autozone, so i bought some and tested it on the cover and it looks terrible. so i sanded it off and now im trying to find the right color. any help? thanks.
ps-i know how to paint the cover so spare me the "you did it wrong it looks GREAT" stuff.

I know this post is 6 years old but... Why would you buy a real spoon valve cover? What's the difference? Ohh that's right nothing, you're just paying for the name (what's not even on the valve cover).. Spoon takes a type R valve cover, paints it and charges you twice the price it would normally be.. lol @ people actually buying these and thinking they're cool for doing it, just retarded imo.

Hey neighbor, I'm sorry but Y-56 is a stock ITR Phoenix Yellow color. I've seen a few VC done in that color and to me it isn't an exact match (I got a real deal Spoon VC).
But what's the big deal? Just say you have a yellow Valve Cover no need to try to pretend it's something it isn't.
Take care.
