you don't need anything except for the Si tranny itself, i have a Crx HF which has the same axles/hubs as a civic STD and i bolted up an Si tranny with my factory **** no problems, the only thing that makes them different is the knuckle side of the axles is a bit smaller, the tranny side all all the axles is the same size though so it don't matter. the only thing you might run into is if the Si tranny is an '88 and your car is a '89-91 or vice-versa your need a clutch to match the input shaft splines, '88 trannys had 21 splines, '89-91's all have 20 splines.

all 89-91 transmissions are interchangeable. The 88 will have the different spline count

you can completely swap the trans, and nothing else.

i have an SI trans in my STD car, using STD axles. the outer spline is the different one of the axles.

swap it in. as long as your not using anytihng 1988 year, then everything is identical. 88's had different clutch spline counts.

dont listen to junkyard man.

he is wrong. the inner spline on the axles works just fine. they are different axles, but they work fine. iwas running over 250 whp through STD axles using an SI trans. they fit. haha

the inner side of the axles on all 88-91 USDM non auto cars ar the same.

so just as long as neither the Si trans or the car its going into are 1988 models then its remove old trans, put new trans in.

dont forget to replace the throwout bearing and little maint things you can do like seals and what not.

well i started taking it all apart today. got the axles out and the battery box and coldair intake. un hooked the starter wires. now the only problems so far were the hidden starter bolt. and the fact my passenger axle and it seemed to pull apart inside the boot. any ideas on if it is fixable?

open up the boot and put the bearings back in the spokes. youll see what i mean once you open it. no biggie. just repack the grease. its gonna be messy.

next time pry the inner cv out of the tranny at the joint. dont just tug on the axle out of the joint.

drain the tranny fluid first!!

i have a Centreforce dual friction myself. It's seen 5+yrs of abuse and works like a charm and grips like a high school kid w/o a girlfriend.

The axle thing ur talking about is easily fixalbe. don't bother taking the boot off. Just straighten it up and whack it on a peice of wood sitting on the ground. it'll pop back in no prob.

if he just pulled on the axle trying to get it out then it should just pop back in.

haha. well i got the tranny in, new clutch so i havent took it over like 3 grand. but it feels amazing. and the axle thing. i didnt pull the axle to make it come out. i was loosening the lower balljoint thingy and wheni pulled it up to get it out of the joint it just sorta felt like it popped out. but i just pushed it back in. works fine. but i cant get my speedo clip back in. i had it working for like 30 sec's then it goes out. i fix it and it works for like a minute or less and does it again

yeah its a pain. i have more problems with that than the "bitch pin", which i have no problems with.

dont try to do it blind. get some light in there and look at what youre doing. it helps a ton.
