Cobalt Friction (They're Almost Ready!)`
Rumour is they'll have the new compounds available the end of October.
It sounds like there have been substantial upgrades all across the board, with wider temperature ranges, better cold bite and better CF while also being easy on the rotors.

Sweet, I picked up another set of GT Sports when I called them amidst this change. Can't wait to see the new pad offerings and start hearing some feedback.

Uhh what about that press release andie put out months ago? It gave info/marketing on the new compounds.
Nothing in great detail, but better than nothing.

What does "killed" mean? Cracked?
Rotors are cheap anyway, if you're doing it right.
Sorry to say, I might not buy more Cobalt pads. The XP12's I have do the job well enough. I don't have patience to try any more new compounds.

No no no, killed means having a "blank" power slot rotor and a lip on it that could contain a small dog.

It sounds like the compounds that will be released to replace the Spec VR will be at least as easy on the rotors as the Spec VR was.

Yea, but I have trouble being happy with anything less after using them.
Needless to say, I look forward to trying some of the new compounds.

Just looking for an update here, and SoCal, the GT-Sports are infinitely more satisfying for street use than the Spec VRs are. I don't know how someone can even argue against that. You CANNOT fade them on the street, and they have a much stronger initial bite when cold.
