Default (already searched) What size if the nut holding the axels in??

I'm pulling the engine out tomorrow or tuesday so i can start really working on the RHD conversion. I'm going to need to go buy a socket to get the axels out. I want the right one so i don't strip the nut. It looks like a 1 7/16" will work but just want to be sure.

Its 36mm and it can be had at any autozone or equivalent. Dont use an SAE socket i woould not want to expletive up the axel nut. its on there with over 200 ft lbs, just get the right socket and do it right!

1 - 3' Pipe
1- ugly friend with at least 1 functioning leg/foot combo

now, ugly friend puts plastic down on driver seat and presses brake pedal hard
now you jump on the pipe until it comes loose

All of the above.
If you have a pet elephant in the back yard, now may be a good time to teach him a new trick. It's called "Get that God D@w^ F$*%ing nut off!" After 2 days of trying on my own and a painful minor injury to my hand it finally came off. LOL!

on my friend's civic the nuts were so tight that me pulling up on the breaker bar lifted the corner of the car and spun the tire instead of loosening the nut.....

solution, turn it so i was pushing down....and get my jump on

its only on there with like 161 ft-lbs, heres a trick remove the center cap, leave the wheel on there, throw up the ebrake, put it in gear. get the biggest breaker bar you can find and just pull on it as hard as you can. always works for me.....or you can always use an impact gun....that'll get it off no problem at all.

I know you found it at autozone but I hust figured id add another location. Home Depot carries a husky set of large sockets Im pretty sure its in that set but its around $60 -70.
