Default head gasket question?

anyone know the stock headgasket cylinder bore diameter? I am looking to a new headgasket soon because of a incident a few months back. It is just some added insurance to myself. I found one from cometic that fits but not sure the bore diameter and headgasket thickness. If I could get a little more compression and have a good seal that would be great.

How much more compression are you looking to get?? I honestly wouldnt run anything other then the oem honda gasket. I used to have a fully built turbo integra and still ran a oem honda gasket, just had it bored out to my specs. Stick with stock . The amount you'll gain from it isnt worth the work IMO.

well a few months back I sucked some water up in my intake then a CAI. There was no damage done to the headgasket however I am weary so I want to replace it anyway. I am going to use cometic but am unsure on what size to get I want keep it as close to stock. So i need the thickness to know which one to order. While I am in there I am replacing the stock head bolts with ARP units for added security. The reason I am going with cometic is because if I deciede in the future for boost over N/A I already have some added insurance. Yes, OEM good but I am just looking for that added insurance.

Its really unnecessary to replace your headgasket. What exactly are you weary about? Water cannot ruin a headgasket. Also, why do you think a cometic gasket will be any better then a oem one? Why exactly do you think this is "added insurance" ?? Putting a new cometic one on of the same bore and thickness is the exact same thing as putting on a new oem one. The reason people put on different headgaskets with boost, is b/c they use a thicker one which lowers compression which allows more room for error when tuning with boost and allows people to run higher boost on pump gas. You putting on a new stock cometic will do absolutely nothing for you if you were to boost. Also, the only reason why people use ARP headstuds is b/c you can reuse them when taking the motor apart and putting it back together again and again. Honestly, I feel you need none of this.
