205/45/16 will it rub if drop with no gap?
i want to run 205/45 series on 16x7 but also want to drop it (not tucked) but no gap between the fender and tire / will it rub turning or regular driving? thanks!
It shouldnt, but I have 205/50/15 Dunlop Driezza's with 15x7 GT3s, with Tein S-techs and I rub a little. My front S-tech springs are from a DA Teg so it could be a little bit lower in the front than normal S-techs, but there aint no wheel gap!
I also had a little bit of an issue with the rear upper control arm (i think thats what it is) that would hit the clip on wheel weights when I would turn so I had to go with all stickies

I rub!!...and I'm on 205/45/16...but im about .5 inch tucked
. The sound is horrible but i like the way it looks.... I believe you will only rub in hard cornering. I had 205/40/16 tucked to the rim and it didnt rub as bad as it does now. But the 45 series rides noticably better.

on the ek's it will rub. due to the inner plastic covering. on the eg's it goes straight up, on the ek's it starts out flat then goes up...
and turning along with centrifigul force and any road bumps during the turn you will rub with a no gap setup...unless your suspension is super stiff. i run 12k's and still rub. with a no gap setup.

Also, on the EK, even without the fender guard, there is an ridge of the subframe rail where the metal joins, and that will cut into your tire if it rubs too high. I was running blades with 195/65/15's, and every time I hit a bump, I rubbed.
i have 205/45/16 with 16x7 and a H&R race drop on my 97 sedan and i dont rub at all.. i had some coilovers on for a while and i had it dumped and barely rubed. mainly when conering
Did you still have the fender liner in? because that rib I'm talking about is on the underside of the frame rail, and gets covered by the splash guard. Check it out sometime, it's scary looking.
