help.. bike idles fine, won't rev, dies, 98 f4r
Ok so im tryin to get this bike running for a friend of mine. i figured this is the best place to start, since im horrible with carbs(yes its carb'd its not an f4I)
ok so heres the deal. i guess the bike ran fine before it sat for a long time(not sure how long) now it has this problem.
the bike starts fine, first try, no choke. it will idle on its own all day long if you let it. the second you touch the gas AT ALL it dies. and it dies fast. not like ignition cutting fast, but almost. so where should i start? i assume i should pull the carbs and just clean them out, but is there another thing i should check first? anything else that could cause this?
other irrelivant problems: idle adjuster will not move at all. choke needs to be adjusted(doesn't work at all right now).
so any ideas are appriciated. thanks

i'm having the same issue with mine. It wont idle when i give it some throttle, turned out to be I'm not even running on all 4 cyl. Spray some water on the headers see if its firing on all 4 first. Then decide from there.
see thats what im thinking, i just need to clean the carbs out. maybe the needle valves are stuck allowing just a little gas in to idle.then when you give it gas it just lets more air in and dies.
