Default LS/Vtec breather chamber on 98 ls block????????

im building ls vtec setup. while i was working on the block i notice i didnt have a oil breather chamber. so i got 1 for free from a friend and try to put it on, i notice it was block off and the breather wouldnt fit. my question is does the 98 ls block have a breather chamber and will it make a different in performance if i dont have it?

or can I let the machine shop tapped the blocked breather chamber area to put the breather chamber on. will it work or im F***

Look at this link it will help you understand the PCV system a little better. It help be get the idea to build my own catch can from a used AC 12oz R134a Can with the use of some fittings.
