Default "Night Mare" - Official Project Thread - EF Owners!

Here is my project... I'm already about 3 weeks into it, working weekends and on my spare time. The car got its name from my buddy that was helping me do this swap, it was funny... maybe i can get that vid posted. anyways, it was about 5am, sun almost coming up and my other buddy goes "in two words how would you describe this swap?" Drew says "Night Mare" i guess u had to be there but i thought thatd be a good name considering its gonna be black...

CLICK PHOTO'S FOR LARGER SIZE

I traded my 92 accord 230,000 miles for this 91 dx w/ 170,000 miles.
Here is what the civ looked like when I first got it...

OK here's whats done so far....
-1996 JDM B18B 45,000mi - S1 cable trans from a 90 DA 71,000mi
-ACT Stage 2 Clutch & 9lb flywheel
-Hasport Mounts & shift linkage
-FULL (front to rear) obd1 1994 integra wiring harness---the wiring harness was a bitch, but well worth it. (no a/c and no heater core yet... but its getting a lil chilly in pa so i need one of those. might as well get an integ one)
-GSR ignition with acura key
-Custom throttle cable/clutch cable
-JDM Prelude seats (no brackets yet, my buddy can hopfully make me some)
-Integra DA spindles/brakes
-15x7 black 5-double-spoked rims w 205/50 falken's
-4 inch HID projectors

I had the engine installed a week ago, it was ready to start and then after trying to shift gears... I found out the trans was shot. fun! had to do the swap all over again!

Old spindles for the d15 (smaller holes for the axles; teggie axles wont fit!):

New DA spindles & rear discs...

I NEED AN ALIGNMENT BAAD!!:

Re-wire lights:

Bumper on and projectors installed:Notice the stupid plastic things i cut out from the bumper, looks soooo much better!

Things I need to do-
ALIGNMENT
2.5" Thermal exhaust on its way...
Make some seat brackets - boo
fix the relays... turn signals arn't working after re-wire & solder, running lights and brakes work.
Install the DA rear discs
buy traction bars
buy tein coilovers/shocks

I got a lil surprise for u guys when i get all the kinks out!... more pics coming!
Thank you for looking, If you have any questions about the swap or are thinking of doing it yourself, let me know.
Tell me what you guys think... good or bad, i like constructive criticism! Thanx again!

******UPDATE OCTOBER 7*******

New GSR Ignition

OHHH YEAAAA

f billet... i like black

So anyway... I just finished most everything major. Even got the integra cluster in... ill have pics soon. now its the boring time consuming part of figuring out why the brake lighs/head lights/turn signals dont work... funfun!!! I should have everything finished by next weekend and another update to add. I drove it around a little today and this thing is a fast revving beast... lots of torque

cbrod, 1990si, JKGONZ -THANKS!!

90JDM - Def. will keep it simple... thx

crxboyy - oh hell yea its soldered!!!! ...yea the elec tape was all i had on hand at the time (used up all my shrinkies in the engine bay) I don't know why I put that shitty pic up.

eda6 - PM

gan2fan - me too!....I want to see the #'s from the beast!

Oh yea almost forgot, today i installed a 1990 da exhaust with the 96 O2 sensor (had to lengthen the wires about 2 feet because of the differant positioning of the obd0 o2 sensor) the reason i put the da exhaust on was because that is the only thing that fit! 4-1! when i get my traction bars i will install the 4-2-1, but by then i might decide to put on my secret wepon!!
So anyway, I fired it up... (had to wire a toggle switch for the fuel pump for now... LOL) It sounded beastly coming out of the resinator ahhaha...

Oh i do have one question... The REAR motor mount, the bolt closest to the front of the car... SIZE>>?? i dont know if i stripped the threads or what but nothing is working for me

More things to be done:
94-98 teg dash assembly FULL
I have a code alarm... gps (top of the line) needs to be installed
carpet/interior pieces
mad kill switches (fuel, ignition, starter - at least)

your not supposed to modify the length of O2 sensor wires, your changing the resistance in the wire by doing this and causing it not to read/work properly.

ever checked the resistance before and after extending a wire? if soldered properly the resistance will be the same. a few inches of extra wire doesn't hurt anything.

Actually godruler is half right. Obviously the resistance of the wire will be a minimal difference (if any at all), but that is NOT the reason you aren't supposed to lengthen your o2 wires. Your O2 Sensor is meant to be in a specific location along the exhaust path, and changing it from one location to another without compensating by switching to the corresponding ECU could cause your car to run like ****.

Well... the O2 is the least of my worries now... it runs good. Wen i get my traction bars itll be fine. Here is my problem...

I have to get back to school (70miles) my alignment is pretty bad though and its sunday so no one was open... here are some pics of the wheels with the steering wheel straight. lol, this might sound like a dumb question, but do you think i should drive it??? if it just wears down my tires a little, i wouldnt mind, but i have a feeling that it would really mess **** up if i drove it the way it is now...

Left wheel:

Right wheel:

The left wheel points left while the right wheel points right... I know I prob shouldnt drive it, but i need to if i can. what do you guys think... drivable? if it wears my tires i dont care, i care about the car though!

PS... i know i prob shouldnt drive it 70 miles... but how about 3? I might just get it towed to STS but id rather not spend 50 bucks i dont have (maxed out my aaa)

Then Why would obd conversion harnes`s work so well? The wires aren't even shielded or anything...
