Default Saving every nickle and dime to have a bike by december or january

I'm looking to get a used rc51 or rr by the winter, but i keep wanting to hook up my car. I'm trying to get some civic SI seats off ebay but everytime i bid i remember that i want to get a cycle. I'm paying straight cash and no financing and payments. Any RC51 riders here? How does it compare to a cbr 1000?

Do you already own gear? Because that ish adds up fast. And don't forget about insurance.. don't skimp out by getting just liability. Motorcycling is all fun and games until you crash and you all of sudden have $60K in medical bills plus $7 pile o'junk sitting in your garage.

Forget about fixing up the car. Once you get a bike, you'll wonder why you ever threw away so much money on the cage.

No i had a 97 ninja zx6 i had won at a police auction a couple years ago. I still have all the gear but i wanna get a new helmet. I took the MSF riding course and i've been riding my coworkers bike a couple days when he decided to ride it to work. I love bikes. I've ridden a cbr 1000, ninja zx6, some buell bike, and i had a chance to ride a harley but that thing felt like a million pounds and my knee was messed up at the time from a b-ball injury. I really dig the repsol paint job but i just want a black bike(beggars cant and wont be choosey) My friend's cousin co-owns rideitagain powersports so that's where i'll probably get my bike. If you are in the philly area check it out.

I'm so hype thinking about it. I definitely wanna go for the rc51 because i havent seen a lot of them in philly. I dont need an 06 or anything. I'm not really all caught up on having that new bike smell, I just wanna ride and have fun....and get girls on the back. I'll start my own gang and go beat up other gangs. Nah just messing. I'll be posting in here a lot more with questions and updates. Thanks everyone

I like the older R1's, they're cool and not that poser-ish. Tasteful mods ftw.

true this. i would suggest selling the civic, buyin a new RC51 and then with any money left over buy an old civic or accord just to get you around on the real rainy days.

How the hell did you come up with the idea of buying either a Cbr1k or a Fiddy One? they are diametrically opposed in design philosophy. Are you Bipolar?

i would say he just sees the sticker 1000R or 1000RR and thats the turn on. most lovers of one arent of the other unless that can answer yes to this question..........

Actually, for what he is probably wanting to the the 1000RR and RC51 wouldn't be far apart. Overall, I belive the 1000RR is far superior performance wise. I think it SLIGHTLY edges out the RC51 in looks. As far as sound, 51 MURDERS it. That bike sounds so damn good, especially with some nice slip-ons (Sato, Jardine, Hindle). So, go what you think would work best for you. BTW, I loved both and if I could do it all over again and have both in my shed behind my house, I would in a heartbeat.
