Default All motor B16, obsolete?

Hey guys, I just FINALLY got a B16 in my EF and is it just me or is everyone going a diff route? I could be wrong but am I late with this swap? Maybe 3yrs ago it was the thing to do, but nowadays I don't see many honda's running all motor or even supercharged. What is the BEST bang for your buck??? Considering a setup of around 500-1100 dollars. Stock block boosted? or internal all motor setup? I still have to keep in mind that the motor has about 80k mls or so and that it's a daily driver. What do you guys think?

In my opinion its great starting point. If you want to go Ls or b20 vtec you can use your head, ecu, and tranny. If you just want to go B20 you can use your tranny, and chip ecu? You can also use your mounts for all the other b-series. with almost any change you decide to make you will be a portion of the way there. Plus if you did the swap yourself, you probably know alot more about engines / hybrids than before.
I have been feeling the same way lately. The b18c seems like agood choice also. Im sure youw ould need to use your tranny with that swap, and mounts. I think your alright man. When you get bored, out with the old and in with the new.

Good luck,

Monty

depends on where you live I guess.
it is still hot **** around here, but now people are catching on to ITR swaps or those who had/have B16 are looking into turbo or just swapping in a B20 bottom end.

either way, a B16 swap is the place to start, especially with a low budget.
from there you have a sick tranny and head that you can use for LS/Vtec or B20/Vtec, or just go turbo (money pit).

I would go allmotor boosting on a stock B16 block = mass headaques and down time fixing rings (etc)

Get some decent cams if on a budget I would recomend the following
1.Skunk2 stage 2 cams, just as good as jun but halh the price
2.Shunk or portflow valvetrain
4. JE or arias 11.5.1 pistons
5.eagle rods
6. have the time of your life and never regret it.

just my .02

pick up an LS or B20 block and build that up.. Once ready, just tap the head for VTEC and bolt on the newly rebuild bottom end. upgrade the valvetrain and the cams and your set. That should get you into the 13's and even 12's with no problems.

I agree with ExospeedAMcrx.

The B16 head can support 2.0+ liters with higher lift cams. You'll have a screaming **** wannabe F1 motor under your hood.
