are all vss interchangable on 88-91 d series trannys?

Im not sure on D series, i think that cable vss on the d series are built in so you would have to get a whole new tranny to convert to electric ( I may be wrong) I know that you can change out the unit from electric to cable on a b series for I have changed that around on my own vehicle and it works great, just cant get rid of the vss

 

the cable vss is not built in on the d series trans. you have to unscrew a bolt that holds the vss hold down tab. they all will come out.

 

you mean the actual drive gear in the tranny? from what ive seen its all the same **** 88-91 civic/crx manual tranny.

 

not sure if u can tos a manual one in a auto trans and vice versa, but most any d-series VSS will work in its respective transmission, I have swapped in electronic VSS's for engine and guage cluster swaps plenty of times. and pulled electronic for cable vss's for the same reason.

 

The d series speedos dont have the 2 oil hoses that run to it from what ive seen..
