HELP! 1989 Civic DX Hatchback Headlight Queston
I have an 1989 Civic DX Hatchback. The question I have is this. I have owned this car since April of this year. I have left the headlights on twice, completely killing my battery. Does anyone know if this car is supposed to have a headlight warning chime letting you know the headlights are on when you turn off the car? If so, mine is not working. If it does have a warning chime, what type of part do I need to fix it? Thanks in advance!
I could understand if they have been turned on by accident during the day and forgot about (alot harder to see during the day time) But if its during the night i dont know how they can be left on by accident
It is usually during the day, when you cannot easily tell they are on. At night it is obvious when they are on. So it does not have a chime?

this thread prompted me to go install one myself. i got a 3M kit that came with fuse taps, and hooked up the red lead to the instrument panel fuse, and the white lead to the cigarette lighter relay and it works like a charm.
i love how a simple question turned into a "how can you not tell, what are you, stupid?" bashing...
to answer your question... no, our cars don't have a warning chime.
and i'm glad my ek has the chime because there's a lot of rainy/snowy/foggy days where my lights are on in the daytime and it doesn't take much not to realize when parking.
