I was thinking of painting the inside of my headlights to give it a more aggressive look, I know this can be done with HID's but what kind of visibility losses am I looking at with painting the inside and maintaining the regular bulbs?
I certianly won't do it if it's going to reduce my visibility at night dramatically.
Just wondering if anyone else has done it here. And yes, I used the FAQ search first

Are you referring to painting the chrome bezels surrounding the projectors? If so, there shouldn't be any effect on light output, since it is the projector itself providing the illumination. The bezels are cosmetic.

Ok cool, I think I'll do that next weekend. One more question, I'm assuming that to get to the headlight housing I have to take the front bumper off, I haven't yet done this, nor have I investigated whats involved.. I'm guessing it's just a few obviously placed bolts - are there any suprises? anything hard to get to that I'll need to know before I attempt to take the bumper off?

Waste of time....you do realize if you dont reseal the headlight properly it will get fogged up and get moisture in it </TD></TR></TABLE>
I know all about resealing them - my friends all painted their headlights in their subys, I just have't tried taking the bumper off yet is all.

taking the bumper off is not all that hard. the trickiest part is getting the bolts where the fender is. just make sure you don't scratch your car with screwdrivers and sockets. when you put the lights back in, make sure your car is on level ground and you put the lights back in level.
