purpose of fog lights

Default purpose of fog lights

if only the fog lights are on, are u suppose to see anything or can u only use them to see better during fog/rain situation? I just installed my fogs and i cant see anything with them on only at night. Thanks

there not designed for a source of light like your headlights. they are meant to simply light the bottom of the road or fog cloud a little so you can light the cloud up and see more unlike headlights in fog they bounce off the fog and light goes in ever which direction so it becomes hard 2 see.

edit: lots of people dont think they work. and as far as the white vs yellow its been proven that neither make a huge difference. most companies use a yellow lens which restricts light output.

ok cool, thanks man that is excatly what i thought but just for fun can someone post a pic of only fogs on at night and the pic is pointing away from the car. Thanks! ( I searched a lot for this pic THROUGH THE WHOLE prelude pictures but i couldnt find it)

while we are on the topic of fog lights, are the yellow fogs any brighter then the clear lens ones? Or is the only difference is ones jdm fogs and the other is usdm

ah, yellow is better because they cut through rain/fog/snow better than white light and they also look better in my opinion

read my 1st post...it says that its been tested and neither are better then each other. yellow was though to have a longer wavelength but it doesnt work that way for this condition from what i have read. I read from 3 diff sites that the white normally works better since there isnt the yellow lens blocking some of the light, however the yellow IMO does look better

alright guys thanks a bunch for ur inputs, i am gonna be posting a "how to" soon on installing universal fog lights on a 5th gen and making them look like usdm fogs and performing the same or better...hehe hopefully it will workout great
