No, the ZC trans uses the bigger shaft like the interga. thats why you can use integra axles. But, you need to get some Raxles cause the axles for the ZC are different. no one sells OEM ZC axles. but htey can be custom made.

you use 90 integra axles with the zc halfshaft ..although we had problems with this setup on a car that was stock height..

i use 90 integra axles for my zc...89 teg axles WILL NOT work..i made that mistake and drove no more than 5 feet before i snapped both ( to short )

I'm curious how you're using your DX axle with your ZC tranny. The inner CV joint's splines are smaller in diameter than the ZC/Integra axles and so you won't go anywhere.
I put a ZC tranny in my 90 DX and in my 91 Standard and I used the inner CV joints from ZC axels and put them on two passenger side DX axles from my Civic. I know you can use 90-93 Integra axles, but I've heard you need the ZC intermediate shaft and you need to remove the outer dust boots on the axles. That way theres no binding or anything. I have heard people not having to remove the dust boots, but I'm not sure if it is a necessity.
If you make your DX axle work then give us pics, I'd like to see what you do.

Other things I've heard about this ZC tranny stuff is:
You can use either ABS or non ABS Integ axles because they're the same length.

You need to use the ZC intermediate shaft, NOT the integra one.

You need to swap out the steering knuckles if your Civic is a standard or your CRX is and HF because they have smaller splines in the knuckles then the Civic DX/Si or the integ. The DX/Si and integs are the same.

If anyone is interested I have a ZC intermiediate shaft and axles for this swap for sale. I've had them for about 5,000 miles on my car. I got a Quaife LSD, so I'm back to using the Civic axles. Let me know if interested.

his dx axle does work in that car, its my old motor and trans. Just drove it last night and i was like wtf! how on earth does that work but it does. But i used 90-93 teg non abs axles in my car with the intermedate shaft and worked fine.

How does the DX axle work though? Did you change out the inner CV joint on it to an Integ one? I know the outer CVs work, cuz Civic and integ ones are the same, but I thought that the ZCs have a larger Diff and so they need the fatter inner CVs of the Integ Axles.
Is the driver's side of the diff smaller like the Civic's and that's where the half shaft goes?

sometihngs fishy with that testimony.

i dont believe it.

i stick my regular axles in the DOHC diff and it slides right in without resistance and too much gear slop that it just wouldnt be feasible. the snap ring never secures, the axle would fall right out in a turn.

what you CAN do is swap differentials so that you have the ZC gearing and can use regular axles, with of course no intermediate shaft. just remember to swap diff rings, unless you swap over the pinion shaft along with it.

just using the zc diff made a huge difference in my car, being able to use the half shaft eliminates the tq steer, gets prety bad with a supercharger. I almost made the mistake of ordering the quaife lsd, then i realized i could get one from mugen made for the zc.

No ****, I didn't know they made an LSD for the ZC... how much is that? What kind of LSD is it, clutch, helical, mechanical? Did you call up King or is it on their website? I did buy the Quaife, but the damn tranny has an issue, so I haven't got it in my car yet? Please let me know about he Mugen one... I'd like to look into that.
