Default dx-zc swap wiring ? I searched first

OK we just got done doing a dpfi-mpfi conversion on my friends 89 civic std. and we put a ZC in. I did the wiring, and I have done DX-ZC wiring before. the problem is that the 2and 4 injectors arn't firing. those are the ones that i wired to the ECU, one solid wire for each injector. the 1 and 3 got fuel and those are the ones I expected to have problems with, because there wired into the DX harness. when its turning over it sounds like it wants to start. we shot some starting fluid( I now, not a good idea) into the throttle body and it ran half *** for a minute, but it wasn't hitting on all 4. we replaced the injectors, tested the resistor box on another car and checked the wiring more times then I can remember. I'm stumped. besides the injector wiring the only others wires I messed with were the crank sensor and TPS. I didn't touch anything on the dist. and it does have spark. any ideas?

cool. but I've tested spark, we have that. I just can't figure out why the 2 injectors won't fire

haha at first, no. I told my buddy (the owner of the car) to swap them and he took the DX ECU out and put it right back in. now were using the 89 integra ECU.
