How much and what kind of fluid to put in b16a1 transmission?
I'm having a 3rd gear problem. When i'm driving my car hard and going through the gears and go from 2nd to 3rd it grinds a little but goes in. But it doesn't do it when i'm driving slow.
Also if i'm in 4th and down shift to 3rd its ok, so there's definately a problem from 2nd to 3rd.
I thought i'd check and change my transmission fluid because i've never done it, do the easiest things first.
Could it be a number of things?
Or is it definate that my gearbox is on its way out?

3rd gear has been a problem for many hondas. I recommend you draining your tranny fluid and putting some fresh Honda brand tranny fluid in the tranny. Its not all that hard just need a 3/4 ratch extension to take the plug out. Check online for some civic shop manuals.
