Is it my main fuel relay causing problems? 95-gsr
When the ambient air temp is hot my car doesnt want to start after driving it. So after searching around for the last two days, it seems like 90% of the problems are related to a busted main fuel relay.
It was around 70* yesterday and didnt have any problems all day and drove it kinda hard before I got into work and it would start right back up after I parked it for a minute. Then later that night I drove home and parked it for an hour then I had to move it. I started it up again after 90 seconds later and it started ok but was really rough until I put a load on the engine. If I didnt give it gas and drive it around it would sputter and probably die when leaving it at idle.
I put in new NGK plugs and OEM plug wires last week so that isnt it.
This morning I took out the relay and all the solders look fine. Is it possible a solder joint below the surface is bad?
Only other thing I can think of is the ignitor in the distributor. But it seems my problem seems to be more ambient related but not engine temp.
edit: I bought a new main relay and it didnt solve the problem. Car still starts rough after it been driven. So I might buy a new dizzy and hope it solves it.

I bought a new relay but that didnt fix the issue. car was sitting in the sun when I went to the dealer, car wouldnt start. I swapped relays and same issue, it wont start.
I waited about 30 mins then tried to start. It would only start when I put the gas all the way down and it started really rough then drove fine after that.

Sounds like an ignition problem if it's running rough. An easy way to tell if it's the relay or pump just listen for a hissing sound coming from ur engine bay, that's the fuel pump pressurizing the fuel line, if u don't hear the hiss then it's probly some problem with ur pump since u already replaced ur main relay and had no luck. Check ur spark plugs when ur car's running rough see if they're running rich or lean.
