Geezessssssssssssss. I just finally went out and bought the damn $25 a piece total was like around $55 with tax. Omg what a huge asssssssss difference. For those of you out there that haven't done this conversion with the Silverstar this is a must upgrade for your 3gen teg of course unless you got HID
Hehe but damn these light help me out a lot I can see a whole lotta shiet that I haven't seen in the road. The bulb were pricey but well worth my money
Sorry I have no digicam to take pix but trust me you guyz will be satisfy with the Silverstar!!!

does anyone have a comparison between the Silverstars and CoolBlues?
I have the CoolBlues... and I wonder if it would be worth it to upgrade to Silverstars.

do you all have problems with it being too bright for other drivers? i personally hate it when people leave their high beams on when i'm coming, and i dont wanna be a jackass to them either...
I've heard a lot of bad things about the PIAA's... (like not lasting too long) so I was hesitant to invest that much money.
May as well go HID if a couple of bulbs burn out on you.
There are no problems with blinding other drivers... the 9005's are high beams, but in the Integra projector, they point downwards, and don't get in anyones eyes (unless you're on an incline) it's pretty crazy to watch the beam of light move up and down as the car does... it's also nice to see the reflective road paint glow at you.

9005 silverstar conversion (time&price)
HID
(well money factor hehe if your willing to dish out that much for HID just for lighting and looks doesn't get my vote) Thats MHO
I have no problem with my beams. It doesn't seems to blind the other drivers. If your is you can adjust your beam. Now the signs and road glows!!
I'm not a perfect 20/20 vision anymore so from all my experience with piaa and the other conversion haven't tried CB yet so I don't know Silverstar definitely gets my vote and my $ Piaa doesn't last too well for me and their output is alright. I still like Silverstar conversion better for time and price you can't beat that

I did the conversion with "normal" (not cool blues or silverstar) Sylvania 9005 OEM bulbs. I bought the bulbs at Kragen for about $8 each if I remember correctly- The link (below) explains 9005 bulbs are 65 watts = 1700 lumens while stock 9006 bulbs are 60 watts =1000 lumens. HID is about 3200 lumens. The conversion is not bright enough to blind oncoming cars (at least from my experience)-but bright enough to make a noticable difference. I actually bought the bulbs and left them at a friends house by accident and he ended up shaving them down for me with his dremel- what a guy- here is the link http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Upgrade/More_light.htm
Yeah, I don't think I've ever bothered another driver, with the exception of one time, at a stop sign on an incline, I could tell my lights were in his eyes, so I turned them off, until I rolled through the sign
alright, i'm trying to get this all straight...
so, the Sylvania 9005 bulbs are 65W bulbs that are meant to fit other cars but are modified to fit the integra? and the stock integra bulbs are 9006's? and to make them fit you just follow the link listed above to shave and remove some peices and your done...right?

about blinding people...i have only had one person flash me since i did the conversion a month ago. surprisingly, it was a hid lit audi. so i happily flashed back!!!
yeah the 9005 conversion is great.. you just take off the 2 little tabs so that it will fit in the 9006 housing.. the tegs stock high beams are 9006 bulbs btw.. as for where to get them... you can buy them (unless their out of stock) at any Kragen/Checkers/Shuckers or Autozone for $25/ea... I used PIAA's previously but didn't know about the 9005 conversion yet... they lasted about 9 months or so.... never tried the PIAA 9005's tho.. but I was pretty happy w/ the Silverstars since it was only $50 and about 30 minutes of my time... a HID set up would be much nicer.. but hey the Sylverstars are only $50...

I personally trust Sylvania's reliability over PIAA. A century in the lighting business has gotta say something, right?
me too
ive had my conversion since about january...i love them, I dont even remember what the stock lights look like but my lights are now pretty damm good...when HID drops to around 300, then ill upgrade, until then, the 9005 conversion is cool with me

I just did the conversion last Wednesday night and in a word... Awesome!
The difference is incredible.
However, I did have one problem. Two days later I drove in a heavy rainstorm, and the next day found a great deal of condensation in my passanger side headlight housing. Ugh! I did not put on the second set of rubber seals as suggested on the BMW website. I now have to wait for some drier weather for the condensation to evaporate, and then I can re-seal.
I hope I won't end up with water spots inside the housing.
