Default how safe is nitrous on an h22a1

i am curious if using nitrous on a h22a1 with 130 miles is safe. New retainers, springs, cams, plugs and wires, injectors, headers, intake, exhaust and intake mani, and a vafc. is that safe enough to run nos? will it damage my engine? Will it decrease the life? what shot would be recommended? how much power would be gained? should the ecu be replaced?

the head will take it. if the block is stock then i wouldnt run high shots and i think it might be a good idea to stay away from wet shot. if you have a usdm h22 then your block is 10:1 compression which will be fine for minimum shots. depends on how much HP your looking to get. if your serious about it then rebuild the bottom end, 8.5:1 pistons, rings, rods, sleeves and run boost and nitrous

You should be good with a small shot, cuz that bottom is a closed deck. Just don't go to crazy.

i have hit a 100k+ mile block that had only been inspected to make sure the ignition was in good shape with a 60 shot and never had an issue.

first off-

run a wet shot, say a 75, no more than that, dry relies on the stock fuel system to richen the mixture as nos is added, a wet shot adds fuel and nitrous both so is technically the safer route.

Have it put on a wideband and make sure you have it jetted correctly.

closed or open deck doesnt really have much to do with it

do a compression test and see what kinda shape the bottom end is in.

good luck-

thanks for all the info and help. it is a usdm block and compression is going to be checked all though it seems to be running perfect from what i can tell. i am not looking for a huge jump in hp just something to give a little bit more so a small shot like the 75 wet is probably what i would be looking for. I have never really done much research into nitrous so could someone help me out and explain what i really need to know. please and thank you.
