Default teg losing power to the fuel pump

i have a 90 integra gs every now and then after running it a while doesnt want to start but if you let it sit for like 5 to 10 mins it will start. I was told that it could be the fuel pump relay so i changed that and it still does it.Then last night i was driving it all day fine not a proublem with it about 10 last night i stop at the gas station and went in got what i need started to pull off and it just shut down, I still had power to my light and everything else.I tried to pop start it and it would go..So i sat there for like a half hour and it finally start go up bye the road and it died again..it did this like 4 times then i just left it there for the night went back at 9 this morn and started it drove about 6 miles got home got out left it running and it died but then ran ok all day for me.. i have now idea what this could be and im just looking for suggestions thanx

Default Re: teg losing power to the fuel pump (90b18teg)

Are u sure it's ur fuel pump? If u already replaced the main relay then the only other fuel related thing to replace would be the pump. How long has it been since u've done some maintenance on ur teg? It could be a number of things, if u think it's ur fuel pump, get somone to turn the key to ON in ur car but not start it, and listen under the engine bay for a hissing noise, that's the fuel pump pressurizing the line, if it doesn't hiss than it probly is ur fuel pump.
