Default vss removal, help!

well i was looking at changes off my electric vss of my tranny to a cable so i can actually use my speedometer, now the problem. I found a cable vss at the junk yard i went to take it off and i just couldnt figure out to get it off, so how do i get that off, visa versa with the electric vss how do i get that off.. are there bolts? if so where...

Also I can take a cable vss from a ls and it will work ok with my b16a electric tranny?

for the cable one...pull the boot up and you should feel a clip on the motor side... you have to take that out...it should pretty much fall out.... i dont know about the electronic one

the electric vss has one bolt holding it in. I am currently doing the exact same thing you are doing but I bought a used cable vss. I cannot get mine to work.

you can interchange them, there should only be one bolt holding it on. just twist and pull and it should work itself loose. just hard because its been in there for so long.

oh and too let you know in case you dont believe me. i am running a hydro tranny, whihc is a electronic vss, with a cable vss.

there is a wire going from the ecu to the cluster, so when the speedometer works, it will send a signal to the ecu so your light should go out...and the cable sensor will fit in your tranny, but they are a pain in the *** to get out, took me about 3 days of drilling, hammering, and torching to get mine out which mind you finally came out in about 30 pieces....the electric sensors will usually pull right out tho...both sensors have a 10mm bolt holding it in, just take that out and wiggle it lose and pull it out.

in all honesty, if you can't get the cable driven vss out right away, just buy one from somebody, cuz in your most likely gonna end up breaking the tab off

Haven't done this in a while but I do believe THERE'S A C-CLIP HOLDING IT ON!!!!!!
Pry off the C-Clip just like you would on the window regulator to get the door panel off.
