god damnit....today i had to go get gas for an appliance at my job and i drove my accord today...so they gave me a gas can and i went to fill it up...so anyways...i fill up the can (btw it's a 5 gallon can) with about 4 gallons...not all the way full you know...and i drive back to my job carefully!....so i get back...get out of my car...and realize that something has been leaking behind me because there is a trail of gasoline behind me...i knew what happened...and i was pissed...and afraid to open the trunk...when i did i found my car with all 4 gallons in my trunk...not a single drop left in the can...i'm furious!...so i spent about 2 and a half hours this afternoon spraying out my trunk over and over...my entire car smells like gasoline...and i'm embarrassed to drive it anywhere right now!...luckily nothing got in the interior (thought it smells horibly) and i've pretty much emptied an entire container of febreeze in the car already...any ideas or problems i might expect in the future from this...i'm so mad right now that i can barely tell the story...sorry for the long post but i'm venting...and btw...please don't move this to the member's corner! thnx

 

I carry a 2 gallon container with me at all time. Sometimes, it does leak, but never nearly as much as yours did. My trunk smell real bad. I'm going to be trying a combination of carpet cleaner and fabreeze. So dont feel too bad, my trunk smells like gasonline, my spare smells like Mobile 5W-30, and my steering wheel and shifter smell like brake cleaner.

 

Damn that sucks dude. A while back I was about to put some gas in my car, late at night, and I didn't have the gas nossel all the way in. When I started pumping, gas sprayed all over my hand and jacket. The gas smell stayed in the jacket even after washing it like 5-10 times, so its probably gonna be hard to get out of your car

what does a gas can relieving itself in your trunk have to do with you being pissed at your accord? its not your cars fault that the can went pee-pee.

My mom left a HUGE *** can of hair spray in the trunk on a hot day and it exploded.... VERY messy.

 

6 pack of coke in the back window (no tint) of an old Dodge in Vegas in the middle of summer 105+ that day. This was in the very early 80's and it was my Dad that left them there but I still remember that frigin mess.

 

thanks for the support fellas...i think i'm gonna open the trunk and put the back seat down and drive around with my windows open to see if that relieves the smell a little bit...hopefully it comes out because that is such an aweful smell!...

 

Sorry about what happen.. Do you get Headache from the Gas Smell?? I know I do...
