I have a 00 si and when i bought it it already had a jdm B16 in it and i was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between and automatic B16 and a manual? how can you tell which one you have? thanks

Tell the difference between what? USDM 99-00 Civic Si only came in manuals. There is no way to tell if the motor was originall automatic (as far as I know) because both automatic and manaul transmissions will work with the motor.

 

No B16 sold in the US, Japan, or Europe came with a slushbox attached to it from the factory. They all came with the Y21/S21 5-speed manual transmission. It's close-ratio gearbox minimizes the severe lack of torque produced by the short-stroke B16.

In the US B16A3s and B16A2s were found in Del Sol VTECs from 94-97, and the 99-00 Civic Si used a B16A2 as well.

If you've got a B16 with a slushbox mated to it, I feel sorry for you.

i know there are no auto in the US but ive heard there are in Japan and the cams are different they have a diff lift and duration and no i have a 5 spd
