will B series internals fit in a ZC
I heard today that somebody near by has a ZC and supposedly has Type R rods and pistons and intake etc. I though that D series could go into any D series and B series stuff is interchangable within B series engines but there is no mixing the two. Now I can see if the bores are the same pistons working but I don't think the wrist pins and rods working. And I am to assume that since the B series is a "Beefier" engine that all the rods and crank journals are bigger there for it would be alot of work to get this stuff to work. Also I heard that this guys engine was guarenteed to run 14.2 or better with everything done to it. He also apparently has an automatic. To get the kind of power to make an EF to run 14.2 period would be all high end power which will not go with an automatic very well and therefore I don't ever see a NA ZC automatic breaking into the 14's. Or if it did hit 14's it would be high. I had an HF ZC with header, cat, catback, AEM CAI, pulley and my best runs were high 14's with decent launches. Is it me or is there something wrong with this picture. Thanks for the help.
Hmm. regarding interchangability, I know that some guys use Integra B18A rods (modified, of course) on their D16A6's to solve the weak rod problem. I don't think anything else changes over... I think the guy is BSing you.
