Loud squeak sound when car turns on

Default Loud squeak sound when car turns on

i think its my tensioner im not sure. i replaced my timing belt recently and its been fine but recently when i turn the car on it makes a loud squeek sound very annoying.
is it a very serious problem...and it only happens when the cars been recently on if i leave it off for like 4 5 hours it wont do it

make sure the belt is lined up properly....it might be rubbing up against the cover....

ill check but its weird cause it just started doing it recently or i heard it could be if the belts to tight it'll make the noise

Try loosening the belt. Easy fix assuming thats what it is.

yea, that happened to me, i changed the timing, alternator belt, p/s pump belt, a/c belt. So one of those did it........

check the tension on accessory belts. Tension on the timing belt should be 1" on the long side. If the access. belts seem fine, might as well take them off and give the pullies a good clean and the belts (don't use any belt dressing or wd40 or anything like that)

(how ironic) lol but thats what ima do check if the tension on the belt is good and all that. thanks for the assistance

Keep in mind belts can squeak if they're too loose as well as too tight.

I think it may be the alternator belt. Happened to my car and the sound was annoying as hell. Mine was loose so I just tightened and it went away. Good luck.
