5spd from SDN in STD HB
The previous owner swapped a 5spd from an ef sedan (? trim/? year) into my std hb. Is there anyway to tell what trim level it came off of (LX, DX, etc.) and the year, so that I can look up the gear ratios?
I've only seen the diagram to distinguish si, hf, dx trannies. Are all the sdn 5spds the same?

no there is a 4 spd and 5 spd and the si or EX one . Im sure you can look at the numbers on the trans to figure it out if not then you would have google search site.i forgot the site but you type in engine and then the type like 5 spd or what not. Then you put in the speed your at and the rpms. it should tell you what it is. but if the car was an EX then it was most likely and Si tranny.
so basically it has to either be a SI tranny or an EX tranny?
Is there anyway to tell the tranny's year from the outside, because the 88s are different from the 89-91s (different clutch disc, pressure plate, etc, correct?) or would i just have to measure the size of the clutch disc?
