CHECK IT!!!!!!! UM AMERICA?????
Hi fellow HTers..... Yesterday I was up at the local Bike shop and I stummbled on what may be a great investment. I was wondering if any of you guys have ever heard of United Motors? Basically itsa 250cc sport bike that will run laps around a Ninja. They cost about the same new. It has a three year warrenty from the dealer and through the manufactur. Also they dont look, feel, or sound half bad. I have never rode a bike, I have been really thinking and praying about purchasing one. I live in Oklahoma City and itsa great place for a biker ( execpt random wind patterns) But anyway, if you guys could just post your opinions on these bikes...
Thanks.

as long as it is a mechanically sound bike then i would say it would be a good platform to learn on. i personally am not from the school of thought where 250 is the great bike to learn on but if you are interested in a 250 this seems like a decent alternative. i dont know where you get one serviced but you gotta btreak some eggs right??

it is, i'd rather get sv650 than hyosung upper model.
but i'd get hyosung 250 over ninja 250

I was looking at this bike yesterday too, it has more then the kawasaki ninja 250 but it weighs 80 something pounds more. Its a heavy 250 but it looks awesome compared to the ninja.
Ah, I voted before I read the replies about it being a Hyosung. They don't seem to popular for some reason. I take back my 'get it' vote.
I like it because its a 250cc bike but it has the looks of all those 600cc and up. Im not a big fan of the way a Ninja looks.
If its around the same price, could be interesting to look into for my 1st bike. Dealer is 60miles away though.

yeah ive heard of united motors. they have a plant in newark cali. that 250 definitely gets my voter over the kawa 250 ninja.
I'm not sure this bike will "run circles" around a Ninja. In fact, I'm almost positive that the ninja performs better than the Hyosung.
About the only thing that bike has going for it is looks. It's more expensive, unknown quality, spotty dealer network, questionable resale value, and less performance.
For the money, I think something along the lines of a GS500F is a much better bet if you are wanting a smaller bike, but want it to look good.
I love riding my Ninja 250 and while it doesn't look the best, I have ZERO complaints about the bike. Plus, when i am ready to move up, I will lose next to nothing re-selling the bike.
Sorry, i didn't intend to make this a huge pro-ninja post. I just want to express my opinion that the only thing the Hyosung has going for it is it's looks. Not saying it's a bad bike, but there are too many unknowns or drawbacks, IMO, to this bike.

so it really is the hyosung, just sold under a different name in the us? i totally want one. even though it's unknown how reliable it is, does it even matter since it has a 3 year warranty?
the red/black is awesome, but that pic is from the 650, i wonder if the 250 will have the same color. even if they don't the black is awesome
