Default Prelude dash stero holder...

Alrigth welp about two months ago i went to circuit city and had them install a new stereo into my car, cause they had a free installation thingy going on. I got my car back a few hours later and realized that the dash kit they used doesnt fit perfectly flush into my dash, the lower corner hangs out the bottom of it, and everytime i hear a bump the whole freaking thing will pop out. This is real great for thefts who want my stereo, they can just grab the corner of the the thing and have the whole stereo in secs. So does anyone know the proper dash kit that fits flush into my car? Also was curious to know how this was done? and what material it was made out of?

the kits are made out of plastic. and from what I see. they used some generic brand that isn't ment for your car and just made it work. The dash kit should come with a little holder below the deck. See where your vafc is.. on most dash mounting kits there is a opening there for you to put a remote or sunglasses whatever. and very easy to install also.

I can do a little quick write up on how to install it, if you need me to. let me know whats up.

*i work at circuit city*
we have a kit designed for most hondas and it's what i have in my car.
you have to remove certain clips for it to work right and they may have removed too many...
just go back and tell them you want a new kit since it doesn't fit right and they'll give you a new one.
or you can get the kit for the prelude same exact thing has all the clips you need no more, no less. but it doesn't have the pocket.
the one in the picture may have either one of those kits with a cover piece over it to make the vafc or whatever it is fit better.
i can get you the model number on the prelude kit if you need it just let me know

I am not sure if your stereo can be done the same way but I was able to install my aftermarket CD player without any custom brackets. I am using the bottom OEM pocket too. It fits perfectly fine and is secure. I've had it that way for 4 years with no problems. It looks clean.
