Default What sensor is this?

What censor is this? What does it do? And how do i take it off?

for those who can't see... i'm holding my throttle body and this is the sensor against the firewall. if you were facing the opening the throttle cable would be on the right and this sensor is on the left.

there are screws/small bolts but they dont have heads to unscrew.

I have a serires of questions to follow, but i'll start with this first.

TIA

It send a signal to the ECU to change the fuel and ignition maps based off of the position of the throttle butterfly.

thanks for promt replies

but the reason why i'm wondering how to take it off...

My Power Throttlebody came in today. 65mm over the 60mm from my z6. I was able to switch over the top censor and the coolant case thing, but i can't get that sensor off.

And i guess this would be more of an all motor question but, i did bolt everything up minus the TPS just to see if it would fit & run. It fits perfect and runs, but the idle was abit low...

Comments? Advice?

you need a flat head screw driver and a hammer. you place the tip of the screw driver on the edge of the two little things that hold the tps. and you tap it at an angle to loosen it. then you unscrew it and put it on your new t/b. you going to have to calibrate it once its on so you dont through a cel

Take a dremel with a cut off wheel and make a slit in the rivet so a flat blade screwdriver will fit, then just remove them like a screw.

will when you have the sensor on your going to have to move it up or down until its perfect so you dont through a code. i went through that its not hard but it can be time consuming

It will run fine, with a slightly higher idle and a CEL if the sensor is unhooked.

the thing is that its broken but i kinda don't have the cash to go get a new one. a cel and a little higher idle i can live with for a week or 2 until i get the cash to get it replaced.
