hello everyone, i have searched and searched everywhere and i cannot find anyone who knows.

I have two 96 Prelude vtec's, both are original vtec ludes, not swapped. i know alot of people say that 4th gen vtec's have a P13 and non vtec have P14. And i know 5th gens have some other weird code like P5M or something. The thing is, my preludes are both h22A1 and are obd II.....what computer code do i have?! please only answer if you know for a fact.

And btw, if i do have a p5m or whatever, does that mean i have the 200hp computer instead of the 92-95 190hp rating?

well i'm not sure what ecu you have exactly, but the later model preludes had more power because of engine tuning, not ecu tuning. 97-98 prelude have 195bhp, and 99-01 prelude have 200bhp IIRC due to slight modifications of the engine.

dude, just open up the floorboard on the pass. side and you'll see what ecu you have. you've probably spent more time asking around when it takes less than 5 mins to go look for yourself.

lol. The only thing that sucks about prelude's is that damn kick panel.

 

I am pretty sure it is an ODB2a P13. Don't quote me on that but I think I read that there are ODB2 p13s out there from them cars.

 

if you have two original 96 vtec ecu's

you are a lucky guy because that's one of the rarest prelude ecu

 

thats cool.... according to that site he posted up there... its a P13A obd II ecu..

I do have 2 original vtec ludes (96) and i wrecked my green one so i am putting the h22 from it and putting it in a White 94 Si i just got... being i am so low on money... the car will be obd II just like the 96....

i would go to obd I but i am super low on money.... i am so low i had to buy my rear main seal from honda which is 12 dollars and now i have NO money....so good thing i have everything i need... btw, i am doing this friday-sunday at our shop.

The ecu is a 37820-p13-a12. I f you have a extra one I would be willing to buy it from you.
