Accord gas mileage issue
Hey everyone. I drive a 98 accord EX running about 33k miles. Just wondering wut u guys are getting for ur MPG?? I'm getting like 18 city/ 22 highway which seems REALLY low for a 4 cylinder. (my max gets 19/26!!) I dont do any heavy driving btw. Anyway, i dunno if this is a problem with the car since i've asked 2 honda technicians and they say my mileage is about right for a i4. Others say my car has a problem. I've changed the spark plugs and stuff but i dont see any improvement. help?
if it is an auto then the epa says it should be getting 23 city and 30 highway but you must remember that the way they do these tests is under optimal conditions and with a very light foot. your numbers sound about right.
I have a 94 stick, 2.2l engine w/ 147k miles on the car. I initially got 18-20mpg mixed highway/city when I first got the car (bone stock and old), and now I'm up to about 25mpg mixed driving. I've changed the spark plugs/wires, have an AEM CAI, use 5w30 oil, got rid of the spare tire/jack and trunk lining. The new plugs/wires got me 2-3mpg over the worn old ones, and my driving habits have gotten better. Try a tuneup.
2000 Accord Coupe 4cyl 5speed with 32k miles - I get anywhere from 26 to 29 mpg with a combo of interstate, city and twisty backroad trips. Bone stock with 35 psi in all four tires and Mobile 1 5w30 in the motor.
