Ehhh
If you hit anything - the bottom part of the camcorder is going to get ripped out by that bolt. Your mount is nice and strong - but your camcorder is made of plastic dude.
Ever heard of "inertia"??
I would use a tether strap to make sure that thing doesn't fly through your front windshield (like I/O port gives you)

yeah that a really small pivot point, if you slam on the brakes, i think it might snap. well just looking at it. not saying the welds wont' hold, i'm sure it'll hold, just the camera holder will probably snap.
maybe if you made that area larger or added a trianglur tubing to the camera. that way it can take a harder beating, the load will be spreaded instead of directly below it.
but kudos for the diy.

surprising i wouldnt be shocked if more than 50% of the itr owners never visit the track, and instead, street race and want video....in which case, they are gonna die anyhow

ahh yes, the illustrious stab you in the neck camera bar. havent seen one of those in some time. Another viable option for you may be the camera tripod on your back seat held down with bungee cords.
How about get/fabricate a legitimate harness-bar type thing? This bolting **** to the seat business is asking for trouble in every possible way. As an instructor, if I was teching your car and you had that in there, I'd tell you to take it out or I wouldn't ride with you. If you can't do it right, don't do it at all, and wait until you can afford a rollbar with a harness bar.
My camera mount suction cups to the back window..
for lapping days, I'm not so much concerned about flying projectiles from the rear, maybe the high backs of the recaros will protect me. heh.

one stab in the neck waiting to happen. If you made that from scratch, I would suggest making something else and mount it to the rear pillars or back seats. somewhere AWAY from your (and instructor) head and neck. and I agree that camera is gonna vibrate like hell mounted like that and you need either some kind of tether or a more secure mount to keep it from flying off the bar in case of an impact.
Ask Baby Nsx for pictures of his mount.
It's a pillar bar that mounts between the seat belt bolts.
On the bar place an a IO port camera mount (has a poly bushing) to reduce vibration.
That mount you got rigged up is ghetto dangerous.
