Default Front end shake

I have a 93 prelude si with a h23. When I get on the gas to accelerate rapidly, my front end (I think it's my front end) shakes. Sometimes it seems that it's coming from the transmission maybe ??? I've been to 3 shops. The first one told me to replace the tires and have them re-balanced, it helped for about 15 minutes. The next place told me that I had a bent axle. The third place told me that I had to replace my rack and pinion. I don't feel comfortable sinking money into something that is not the fix. Can anyone help me ??

Start with the cheap stuff then work up. Inspect the basics, check your CV boots to see if they are torn, check your motor mounts to see if they are messed up. You had your tires balanced which is cheap, I would check your axles next cause that can also cause vibration, when you do your axles they will probably check/replace your CV joints.

I'm still a n00b at this game... but could something such as a warped rotor be it? Or no?

Hey, thanks for the input. The one thing that I forgot to mention is that the ABS light was on for a while. I disconnected the battery and it went away. Could an ABS problem cause my symptoms ??

Not that it would have anything to do with your shaking, but check brake fluid first when ABS comes on, every time its came on in my parents vehicles thats always the thing.
But like I previously stated I'm still pretty n00bish at this stuff. Sorry I can't point you in the right direction

does it only shake when accelerating? or does it shake all the time? if it just shakes when accelerating, I'd have to say you have a bad axle. if it shakes all the time, you should check the wheel bearings. keep us updated.

Jack up your front end and grab the tire top to bottom and try to wiggle it...do that again but side to side. If it wiggles top to bottom it s a ball joint I THINK, if it wiggles side to side probably a tie rod.

I'm kinda taking a guess. I could have the parts backwards or I could be dunh duh nah..but just try it to help narromw it down.

Try to wiggle the tire and and if it does move more then half an inch or so look inside the wheel well to see whats giving and replace it.
